MFA Choreography Thesis Performance
This piece is performed in two parts, an interactive part and a traditional performance piece. Theatrical Unreality is a creative space that takes theatrical tools and flips or distorts them to create a heightened artistic world. I achieved this by merging dance and theatre techniques such as sound, narrative, props, language, facial expressions and physical dynamics to evoke a story with characters and emotion through movement. I am inspired by physical theater companies like Punchdrunk and Goat Island and hope to continue to bend the barriers of dance and theater in my work to continuously explore new ways into creative dance and theatre art.
